What does it mean to finish the work of someone else?

For this piece, I completed unfinished quilt squares into individual wall hangings. I felt a strong connection to my unknown collaborator and wrote notes to them that I printed in silk and stitched to the back.

The unfinished quilt squares used here were purchased in Hopkins, MN.
